CompareThe separate tools most venues glue together

Hangar vs the stack

Most venues don't run one system. They run eleven or twelve. A till from one company, card machines from another, bookings, email, texts, wifi, loyalty, gift cards, rota, stock, accounts and a reporting tool from the rest, held together by Zapier and a spreadsheet. A single bar pays £565 to £2,012 a month in subscriptions before card fees, and keeps seven or eight copies of each guest that never agree. Hangar is one system with one login, one subscription and one guest record.

the stack
Hangar
Systems
the stackThey run 11 to 12 separate tools for one venue: EPOS, card payments, bookings, CRM, SMS, wifi, loyalty, gift cards, rota, accounts, stock and reporting
HangarWe run all ten modules on one database
Logins
the stackThey give each manager a login per tool, and every one of 300 staff a separate rota app login
HangarWe give each person one login across every site and module, with roles you set
Contracts
the stackThey come with 11 to 12 supplier agreements, renewing on different dates. Procure Wizard asks for "36 months minimum term of use"
HangarWe have one subscription with no minimum term and no exit fee
Cost
the stackThey cost a single venue £565 to £2,012 a month in published subscriptions, and a 10-venue group £4,867 to £10,758 a month, before card fees
HangarWe charge one subscription: the platform plus the modules you run, on one bill
Guest record
the stackThey keep 7 to 8 copies of each guest. Contact details sit in up to six tools and spend sits in one, the till
HangarWe keep one record per guest across every venue and brand. The booking, the bar tab, the wifi login and the gift card all land on it
Joins
the stackThey join up only where you pay for it: a £5 API add-on on Collins, one integration slot on Wireless Social, £250 per brand and £25 per unit a month for Toggle on Tevalis, and Zapier billed by the task in dollars
HangarWe have nothing to join. Every module reads and writes the same record, live
Wifi data
the stackThey set the clock for you. Wireless Social removes a guest's personal data 13 months after their last visit
HangarWe let you set your own retention periods, as a setting per country
Numbers
the stackThey each tell you something different about Saturday, so someone spends Monday making them match
HangarWe give you one answer to how Saturday went, live
